in high-voltage power generation:<\/p><ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li><strong>silver-plated flat bars,<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>switching elements and contacts (usually silver),<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>cable lugs and terminals,<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>transformer and switchgear components,<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p>GSM antenna elements coated on the inside with a layer of silver.<\/p><p>Distinguishing silver-plated aluminium from pure aluminium can be difficult at first glance as both metals have a silvery sheen<\/p><p>Pure aluminium: has a dull, slightly grey tint, especially after oxidation (becomes covered with oxide).<\/p><p><strong>Silver-plated aluminium<\/strong>: is shinier, and can have a 'cold', bright sheen similar to chrome or
