How can you recognise a reindeer?

Pure rhenium is greyish-silver in colour and has a very high density. In practice, it mainly reaches us in the form of spent catalysts or scrap from heat-resistant alloys. Its melting point is one of the highest of any metal, second only to tungsten.

Given rhenium’s high market value, every consignment is thoroughly analysed to determine its actual metal content.

Rhenium procurement – pure rhenium and turbine scrap

Rhenium (Re) is a strategic metal used, amongst other things, in the aerospace industry and in the production of superalloys. We purchase it in various forms, including materials that are difficult to classify.

What do we accept?

  • pure rhenium,
  • alloys containing rhenium,
  • waste from turbines and end-of-life catalytic converters.

How do we price a reindeer?

We determine the purchase price of rhenium on the basis of the actual content of the element in the material – as confirmed by analysis – and current market prices.
