How can you identify mixtures of metals?

If you’re not sure which metals are in your scrap, you don’t need to sort it before delivery — we’ll value it as a mixture. It’s worth weighing the whole lot before delivery — this will help us estimate the initial value more quickly.

We sort and analyse the composition on site, and the valuation reflects the actual content of each metal.

Purchase of non-ferrous metal alloys – what we accept

We send mixed non-ferrous scrap metal to RADO, which, using its own technology, is able to separate each type of metal from the others. This enables us to purchase material that cannot easily be sorted by hand.

Examples of mixtures that we purchase

  • aluminium with copper and brass – e.g. Al/Cu scrap,
  • lead with copper and brass – e.g. Cu/Pb granules,
  • acid-resistant steel containing copper and brass,
  • non-ferrous metals combined with steel – Cu/Fe and Al/Fe scrap,
  • non-ferrous metals and plastics – e.g. a material containing copper or brass.

Price of metal alloys

The price of mixed non-ferrous metals depends on the proportions of the individual metals in the material, the size of the consignment and the LME prices for those metals.
